The Hook Guides
One variation of the snail guide is the hook guide which, as the name implies, is configured in the form of a hook. In comparison with conventional snail guides, the hook guide is more compact, stronger, and offers a 360o circumferential restriction to the wire movement without any chance of going astray. Therefore, when diamond polished, it can be used to locate a very thin wire in a precisely defined boundary as small as 2.0 mm in diameter, yet free to move along the axis of processing without wandering. The HK 002 shown at bottom left is dedicated for threading of wires at hard to reach locations.
